CSI - Basic Construction

This one-day course focuses on understanding construction permits as the key to avoiding stormwater fines and penalties, and on the role of the municipal stormwater inspector who must ensure that all control measures are in place and functional. Testing will be conducted; students are required to achieve a minimum overall score of 75% to be awarded .87 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) from the National Stormwater Center and a five (5) year Inspector Certificate.

Construction stormwater permits require "Qualified Personnel" who conduct inspections be part of the Stormwater Team.  Earn your CSI Certification so that you are qualified to specialize in stormwater pollution prevention for development projects.  This course is appropriate for all Construction and Development stormwater permittees and their consultants, including Municipal construction personnel and Municipal Stormwater Inspectors.  This certification indicates that the services our graduates conduct are being performed by professionals who have met the established standards of knowledge, experience, and competence required in the field of stormwater inspections.  The National Stormwater Center's CSI-MS4 class has been an integral part of the success of 7,333 municipal inspectors across the country.  

This course is appropriate for all Construction & Development personnel including Municipal Construction Employees, Municipal Stormwater Inspectors, and Environmental Consultants who typically have responsibility for:

  • Construction Inspections
  • Reporting and Signatory Certifications
  • Stormwater Visual Observations
  • BMP Installations (silt fences, detention/retention ponds, etc.)
  • Routine BMP Inspections
  • Elimination of Non Stormwater Discharges
  • Site Stabilization
  • Construction Site Materials Storage and Waste Management
  • Inspecting Control Measures for Erosion and Sedimentation

$424.00 ($399 course, $25 registration)

Discount:

Early Registration Discount! Register 30+ days in advance of class start date and received a $25 discount. Organizations registering multiple students receive the $25 per person early registration discount, plus the $25 per person registration fee is waived! 

Regular discount: $25 per person discount for two or more registrants from same organization when registering less than 30 days in advance of class start date.

Terms:

Registration fee is non-refundable. Course fee may be applied to another scheduled class, transferred to another registrant, or it will be refunded if cancellation received a minimum of 14 days prior to class start date. Certificates of Training valid for 5 years and .8 CEUs awarded by National Stormwater Center will be issued to attendees who achieve a minimum of 75% accuracy on overall testing. Graduates may attend the CSI-Recertification class to extend their National Stormwater Center qualifications for an additional five (5) years. Registered students will receive a detailed email prior to the start date. This email will include specific class location, daily start and end times, and additional information.

Cancellations: Class fees are refunded if received 14 days prior to start date, registration fees are non-refundable.  Substitutions are allowed with notification to our business office.  Cancellation or reschedule requests made less than 14 days of the class start date may not receive a refund nor a transfer.  You agree to these terms when registering for the training.
