INDUSTRIAL EMPLOYEE TRAINING

From the 2015 EPA Multi-Sector General Permit:

2.1.2.8 Employee Training.

You must train all employees who work in areas where industrial materials or activities are exposed to stormwater, or who are responsible for implementing activities necessary to meet the conditions of this permit (e.g.,inspectors, maintenance personnel), including all members of your stormwaterpollution prevention team. You must ensure the following personnel understand the requirements of this permit and their specific responsibilities with respect to those requirements: Personnel who are responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and/or repair of controls (including pollution prevention measures);Personnel responsible for the storage and handling of chemicals and materials that could become contaminants in stormwater discharges;Personnel who are responsible for conducting and documenting monitoring and inspections, and Personnel who are responsible for taking and documenting corrective actions

National Stormwater Center is now offering On Demand video learning for industrial employees! All sessions are one hour in length at a cost of only $50.00 per employee per sector purchased. After completing a sector video, the student will receive a certificate of training that can be used as documentation in your SWPPP to meet the training requirement.  Students are awarded .10 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) after watching this information packed video from the National Stormwater Center.

There are 29 sectors and this is a work in process.  If your sector does not yet have a video available, email us (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) and we will prioritize that sector for you.

FOR GEORGIA PERMITTEES:  Your permit does not have Sectors AB and AC.  Georgia uses Sector G instead of  Sector AB - Transportation Equipment, Industrial and Commercial Machinery, and it uses Sector H instead of Sector AC - Electronic, Electrical, Photographic, and Optical Goods.  If you are in Sectors G and H in Georgia, you must purchase Sector AB or Sector AC to get the training you need.

NOTE:  Be sure to select the correct training video for your facility by Sector and by Description.  While the greater majority of permits use the same Sectors and Descriptions, some permits do vary.  (Sector A - Timber Products could be Sector A - Landfills in your regulatory authority's permit.)
