Industrial Employee Training

Generally, Industrial Stormwater Permits state:.

You must train all employees who work in areas where industrial materials or activities are exposed to stormwater, or who are responsible for implementing activities necessary to meet the conditions of this permit (e.g.,inspectors, maintenance personnel), including all members of your stormwaterpollution prevention team.

You must ensure the following personnel understand the requirements of this permit and their specific responsibilities with respect to those requirements:

 - Personnel who are responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and/or repair of controls (including pollution prevention measures);

 - Personnel responsible for the storage and handling of chemicals and materials that could become contaminants in stormwater discharges;

 - Personnel who are responsible for conducting and documenting monitoring and inspections, and

 - Personnel who are responsible for taking and documenting corrective actions

National Stormwater Center offers Industrial Employee Training in two ways:  Live webinar led by an instructor, and,  On Demand video subscription.  All sessions are one hour in length at a cost of only $50.00 per employee per sector purchased. Upon completion of a session (webinar or video) the learner will receive a certificate of training that can be used as documentation for the SWPPP to meet the training requirement.

There are 29 sectors and this is a work in process.  If your sector does not yet have a video available, email us (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) and we will prioritize that sector for you.

FOR GEORGIA AND WEST VIRGINIA PERMITTEES:  Your regulatory agency has rearranged some of the Industrial Sectors.  It is best to select your facility's sector by description vs. by letter designation. ( Example:  Sector G - Metal Mining may be listed as Sector AA in your permit.)
