Certified Stormwater Inspector - Permit Shield
The recent Supreme Court (SCOTUS) decision to require NPDES permits for indirect discharges including ground water and surface water can impact your organization. You may not discharge pollutants to navigable water without a permit. On 4/23/2020 SCOTUS expanded the requirement for discharges through ground water or across land surface if the discharge is the “functional equivalent of a direct discharge.”
This online webinar course will help you gain an in-depth understanding of the need for a new permit shield, how to determine your risk of enforcement or a citizen suit, and the steps to minimize your exposure to litigation. The Court provided factors to determine if a permit is required for discharges through ground water and surface water discharges. The shield we present is primarily a permit application for indirect discharges, not necessarily the traditional permit shield with currently issued permits. On Day One of class we identify the problem; on Day Two we offer solutions. Examples (not inclusive): Construction drag-outs and wash-outs, Industrial ash ponds, Commercial radiator shops, Municipal retention ponds, Residential swimming pool discharges, Agricultural fertilizer run-off, POTW sludge to farms.
Attendees receive a Certificate of Participation and .6 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) from the National Stormwater Center.

Early Registration Discount! Register 30+ days in advance of class start date and received a $25 discount. Organizations registering multiple students receive the $25 per person early registration discount, plus the $25 per person registration fee is waived!
Regular discount: $25 per person discount for two or more registrants from same organization when registering less than 30 days in advance of class start date.
Registration fee is non-refundable. Course fee may be applied to another scheduled class, transferred to another registrant, or it will be refunded if cancellation received a minimum of 14 days prior to class start date. Certificates of Participation and .6 CEUs awarded by National Stormwater Center will be issued to attendees. Registered students will receive a detailed email prior to the start date. This email will include specific webinar registration and login information.
Cancellations: Class fees are refunded if received 14 days prior to start date, registration fees are non-refundable. Substitutions are allowed with notification to our business office. Cancellation or reschedule requests made less than 14 days of the class start date may not receive a refund nor a transfer. You agree to these terms when registering for the training.
